Luna Rey Hall has created a masterpiece by using punctuation to create mood and tension, instead of being used soley for pauses and sound. There is a somberness to the / as we hear about the trans body and the narrator's mother's pauses--the gasps and sobs made more dramatic with punctation. There is such force in this chapbook.
